What a spoiled brat (restaurant story)

So my parents came to visit yesterday and we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant.

We get seated next to a 20ish guy and his mother. There was a divider between us so we couldn't see them, but we could hear them. The guy was carrying on the most amazing conversation (if you can even call it that) with his mother. It went on the whole time we were there (about an hour), and here is a brief cliff notes version (using actual quotes that I can roughly remember):

Son: I'm going to drop out of college and open up a coffee shop. I have been looking into this and I think I can make a lot of money.

Mother: I don't think this is a good idea. You should finish your education. What if the coffee shop doesn't make it?

Son: Won't you trust me for once? I need you and dad to give me $140,000, and I need it quick.

Mother: I don't think th...

Son: Be quiet. Just be quiet for a second. I'm going to allow you and dad to be partners in this, but only silent partners. And by silent, I mean silent. You share in some of the profits but get no say in anything.

Mother: Why are you telling me this? You don't need to be making rash decisions this early in your life. Have you talked to your father?

Son: Father? Can't I talk to you first!?! I'm pre-preping you mom. Can't I pre-prep you?!? When we go to talk to dad, you need to tell him that this is a good idea and to give me $140,000 right now.

Me and my dad thought about going over there and teaching him some manners, but my mom was there and she doesn't like confrontational type things unless really neccesary, so we didn't.

I can't believe some people.

I almost wanted to repost-nazi you but its a different story and different poster and entirely different situation 😉 I hate undisciplined familys at resturants too

edit: oh, and how many ppl think that kids' just gonna buy drugs and booze instead of a coffeeshop? hah

*yawn*

I don't see why people let stuff like this bother them so much.

Maybe the guy was doing it on purpose just to piss you off. I surely would.

It wasn't so much that they were being loud, but just that the son would talk to his mother like that. Demanding $140 grand :Q

Parents can be hard sometimes, and one must drive their point into their head. If I was dropping out of college to open up a coffee shop and wanted 140K, i would have done the same. Cuz, there is no other way I could get that amount of money.

You should of had grabbed him by the neck and punched him all over the place. Teach that fvcker some manners.

Quit eating at Taco Bell. The clientele there is not known to be the best.

I don't think anyone who has parents that can pass out $140 grand would be eating at Taco Bell 😉

And I refuse to ever eat at Taco Bell ever again after I got really sick last year eating there.

If I had just invented a time travel machine with a working demo to show my parents they *still* wouldnt have given me a 10th of that amount!!

My parents never believed in drugs, but if I even attampted to bring up something like this, they would call the funny farm and have me drugged untill I came to my senses.
