What a moron, at the theater Friday....

Friday I went with a group of friends to go see Spiderman... and one of my friends told another to go "suck a bag of dicks". First time anyone had said anything like that. Then this guy in front of us turns around, and says, I quote:

"Hey asshole! Knock that sh!t off, I've got my f--king daughter here!"

As a parent it is disturbing to me that people don't seem to realize a child's model for behavior is its primary caregiver.

A parent can relegate undesirable behavior to other's and say "this is not something WE do." But no matter what the punishment, if the parent does it the child will also. The best instruction for a child is by example. They are biologically programmed to emulate adults; the adults they are strongly emotionally attached to are thier parents. Children will model parent's behavior at almost any cost. It's what they are designed to do.

Don't misread me. I do believe in free will. I'm speaking "generally" about very young children.

What a dumb father!

Still though, your group of friends wasn't like that group of teens that everyone hates who get together and feed on each other's egos cursing and swearing in public to "impress" everyone else are you? 😉

Nah, we dont swear that much, and not very loud, and we're generally pretty polite to people

Wonder how old the kid was?

And no, you pervos, not for anything weird. Just that "Spider-Man" (especially Green Goblin) was really FREAKING out just about every kid under the age of 10 (and there were alot of them) at the theater I went to.

That guy sounds like a real tool. Ditto on the modeling of behavior. Early on, no one is more of an influence than the parents. Even the youngest kids see, hear, and remember EVERYTHING.

LOL, that was what I as thinking. It's people like you and your friends ViperMagic that ruin people's fun.

Agreed.

That guy is clueless. I am sure if he would have been a bit more polite, like "can you please refrain from using that language as I have my daughter with me". Now I would have respected that, but to hear that fool utter that nonsense, haha...calling his daughter my "f-ing daughter". Trailer trash.

I swear a lot too, but not around anyone who shouldn't hear it. You develop a sixth sense to when kids are around and you don't do it.

LMAO at the suck a bag of dicks reference though. Funny.

Damn skippy. Foul language absolutely does not belong in a movie theatre.

Hmmm...

You must get extremely pissed off every time you visit a theater then...

Rated PG-13 movies and up contain those "hurtful" words that harm your virgin ears

You should stop being so sensitive, people cuss every day, heck, 5th graders these days know the f'word and sometimes use it liberally on the playground

<< It's not swearing. He suggested that his friend go "suck a bag of richards". What's the harm in that? >>

lol

no you genius.... usually people who are cursing in a movie theater aren't doing it in a whisper. They're yelling. I don't go to a theater to hear OTHER PEOPLE'S conversations. I go to enjoy the movie. I couldn't care less about the argument you and your friends are having.
