From the way the article reads, and they don't give you much..Originally posted by: tami
i'm just curious. the article said that nobody saw the man. so did they catch him while he was screaming while being minced? or did they find him once his body was already in the wood chips? 😱
It sounds like it was one of those..... "Hey... Where's Bob??... *walks over to shredder*.... oh sh!t" type of situations...

Generally, machines capable of ripping large trees to pieces should be treated with considerable respect. Complacency around power equipment is very dangerous. Hell, a Dremel can jump when you're slicing metal, and it can grind away at your hand before you can react.

It's the feeling, or rather knowing that you're most certainly about to die that most would want to avoid.Originally posted by: jumpr
I don't think it'd be that bad...no suffering (it's over in a second), and if you go in head first, there's very little pain involved as well.
Going feet first would be akin to dying in a fire or drowning..... Some people might pass out, but most would be alive and very conscious well into their torso.....
Think about it. You could get cut in half at your stomach and still be fine as far as heart and brain go. Of course you would pass out from vascular system pressure loss quickly afterwards, but still... Those would most certainly be the longest seconds of your life.
i saw a FoD video where a guy got caught between a subway car and the platform. he was basically cut in half at the waste, but didn't die because everything was pinched off by the car. they brought his family to say goodbye, then moved the car, and he died. sad.
