i know it's a common move, but that seemed like an especially powerfully example of it. i haven't played/watched soccer enough to know if that's normal.

Scoring a goal from that distance with a header is quite rare, but having that much power behind it isnt because he has a strong neck or anything, its mostly from the kick itself. If you watch the headers from set plays, they could have similar distance if aimed up.
