My wife does this all the time. Don't get me anything, we just spent money on blah blah blah that'll be our gift to each other.
It's a trap dude. You have to get her something.
Everything I have brought up over the course of the day has been shot down by her. We had planned on going away for this anniv but then our fridge was having issues and needed replacing at the same time that the tile floor was being done and my car started stalling. Life does get in the way sometimes...
I will see if I have time on my way home tonight to get a nice flowering plant (she doesn't like cut flowers) at the local farm.
Good call. I like to pick up a bottle of her favorite perfume and a card personally.
15 last Wednesday. Grats to all of us.CoolI am 15 years tomorrow.
she's a keeperIts our anniversary and my wife thinks I should just put a bow on either the new fridge or the new tile floor as her "gift"
This is all part of a 900sq foot addition we are still working on and she wants to keep costs low so that the new kitchen can get finished!
I have no idea when the last time she wore perfume was and we have a running joke about physical cards and how they are pointless...
900sqft isn't romantic?Meh, it's the thought that counts. Christ, don't you guys do anything romantic?
I'm coming up on 19 years in September and I still get my wife flowers and cards to mark special occasions.

My 11 year old would LOVE that one...

Advice from the grave. My wife & I do this sort of thing all the time. Instead of buying each other "gifts" for anniversary/birthday/christmas, we buy things we both want for the house, we take vacations, etc.
The only time that the trap gets set is when you're foolish enough to ask what she'd like for; Mother's Day, Anniversary, Birthday, Christmas, whatever gift-giving day, and she says, "Nothing. Don't buy anything this year."
THAT's a trap...a deadly one at that...

Are... are we obligated to contact CPS now?
You should put a bow on your penis and tell her she can have her present after she makes you a sandwich.

You speaking from experience?
Advice from the grave.
ATOT better listen up.

I typically jot down what she offhandedly says she wants as the year goes by and get that for xmas, birthday, etc (and typically have stuff in my cabinet at work incase I screw up and forget to get something for one of those).
She's quite obviously cheating on you and getting nice things from her guy on the side. She's encouraging you to buy things for the house because one day she'll leave you and get it all anyway.
Sorry, man, but life sucks sometimes.
