I wouold persoally put it under Techno. trance maybe.

I'm not familiar with the various styles of this kind of music so I could be wrong. Definitely some sort of Techno though. Trance is a maybe.

Favorite techno track EVER:

Orbital's Halcyon (live version)

BTW: Orbital is not Orb.

The Orb is one of my favorite "groups" ever. In quotes, because the line-up is ever changing, with only Alex Patterson as the fixture. They are NOT trance or techno, but properly called Ambient Dub. Why? They ushered in a fusion of ambient music (as tha name suggests, an atmospheric, often beatless musix that has been coined (by Eno) as "Sonic wallpaper") with Dub Music (a bass-heavy music originating from the instrumental b-sides of reggae music). Their music wanders all over the place though, with Orbvs Terrarvm being their most impressive work - this is neo-classical music people!
All their albums are good, except for their last, which is pretty much a signal that all good things do come to an end, even the fantastic voyage of Dr. Alex Patterson and his crew.

It depends, all their albums are incredible journys, U.F.Orb and Adventures beyond the Ultraworld are two with a space motif, however, Pomme Fritz and Orbvs Terrarvm are more of a blend between air sea and jungle - in each song you feel like you are floating submerged in the amazon and walking through a forest....all at the same time.
If you want more ambient, then start with Terrarvm, if you want more dancy, then start with U.F.Orb.
But you'll eventually get them all anyway, so there's no use holding back....
