OP, grab some silicon spray and have at the weatherstriping. I usually do it twice each winter - once in Nov, again in Jan - and have never had frozen doors / trunk.
For the locks, I use graphite spray rather than either WD40 or silicon since those will allow dirt/grime to accumulate.
Sounds like 303 Aerospace Protectant would do the job for seals - it's got PMDS in it.

quit complaining. You haven't seen shit until you have to chip away 1/4 inch of frozen rain just to get your door open.

Learned something new about the GTO, didn't know it was a independent cable for each wheel on the E-Brake. Is that standard amongst most vehicles?

Yep, like Montreal. Yet none of this stuff happens to anybody I know. Just pull on the damn door and wipers, and buy an ice scraper.

Letting the car run for 5 minutes before leaving is also a good trick. (handbrake cable is usually close to the exhaust...)

My doors on my truck froze shut. It was a bit above freezing, and drizzly/rainy, then the temperature dropped and it froze. Fun.

However, I have a bottle of this in the house for times like that. Spray in the seams of the door, wait a few seconds, open door.

Using just hot water can be a bad thing - depending on how hot it is, it can cause thermal stress on glass and stuff and possibly cause cracking. Also, the water can refreeze on you later. The de-icer stuff won't refreeze.

I should treat my seals with the silicone spray however. Helps them last longer too anyway.

Most GM cars, are seperate e-brake cables to both wheels. The cable from inside the car has an adjuster on it, then it "Y's" off, with a cable to each wheel.

You mean like this? (that trip back really sucked for me 🙁 )

Well it just gets better and better. Hit a fucking deer on the way home tonight. Busted the windshield and dented the front quarter panel. Fml.

How about a photo of the damaged GTO after the encounter with that Deer ? ?

I'm too pissed right now. Maybe after dinner.

The fucking thing just got up and ran away like it was nothing. I did take a chunk out of his ass though. There's a piece of him sticking out of the quarter panel seam.

What road were you on when you hit this deer ? ?

I usually come home Rt. 9 through Wappingers Falls. It's all friggin' backed up with extra traffic from the malls this time of year. So I took some back roads to get home. I had just turned off New Hackensack onto Widmer. Figured I'd save some time. Ya right.

See op for pics.

Sure. That's why it ran into the side of the car and flipped onto the windshield.

Now if I was Alkemyst in my 240 with my bulge, I would have missed that deer by a mile.

FYI I was doing about 30mph when I saw it. It was completely dark already at 6pm so I didn't have a whole hell of a lot of reaction time. Saw it come into the headlights out of the corner of my eye. Slammed the brakes but couldn't swerve because I was on a blind curve. If someone else had been coming the other direction I would have had a head on with them causing serious injury. Kept the car straight in the lane and let the deer slam itself into my front fender.

There was no avoiding it. If you think otherwise, you're as big a tool as you make yourself out to be on these forums.
