I don't agree with the US bombing Iraqi civilians either. However, you have to try and justify the end with the means. Do we allow Sadaam to continue his wave of killing, whether it be gassing Kurds, his own people or even assassinating his own children or do we attack enemy positions that Sadaam himself placed in the middle of residential areas and put his own people at risk in order to try and dislodge him. I don't think the US has any intent on indiscriminately killing civilians. That is why we are using smart bombs not carpet bombs in Iraq.
These two examples have absolutely nothing in common. One is about removing a man from power. A man who is putting his own people in harms way to solidify his own power and is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of his own people. The other is about a small group of people who revel in drinking the blood of slain settlers.
