I am thinking it is Honda S2000 as the fastest car for 4 cylinder class. Saab 9-5 Alero comes in second place. Anyone agree with this?

"Fast" is relative, but for argument sakes, I assuming you'er speaking of 1/4 times. I also assume you'er also including street driven modified cars, and as so, I would say a Stage 3 turbo BEAMS 3SGE in a light weight body, such as a ae86. The fastest 4 banger, full out race, would probably have to be a H22 fully modified engine in a Civic. I've also heard about the 2000HP, yes no typo, built from an B18 series engine, but its changed so much, it has no original resemblence. Pardon my run on sentences...lazy.

The hyundai rallispec WRC is a rally car, and is turbocharged to the max. I think we were talking stock cars though.
Lotus Elise hits 60 MPH in 5.7 seconds
Honda S2000 hits 60 MPH in 5.8 seconds
So they're nearly identical, at least in that regard. The S2000 is much easier to come by (and more practical) than an Elise however.
This discussion has to be kept to naturally aspirated engines, otherwise it's meaningless.
Edit: Oh, and it's Saab 9-3 Aero, not Alero. An Alero is an Oldsmobile.

FWIW the engine in the Elise isn't all that. 120hp. Nothing out of the ordinary for a 4-banger. What's amazing is the body of the car and how incredibly light it is. Imagine bumping up the power by just 30hp or so....

Speaking of production cars, in the hands of a good driver, naturally aspirated only, at 10:30 CST on Wednesday the 31st of July, 2002, yes.
Here in AUS WRX STI are all over u could pick one out each time you go anywhere.... Standard WRX's are like sedans here everyone has one.

He's talking about a turbo 4 cylinder, which is meaningless for this discussion. You mentioned the 1.8T, but then you voted for the S2000 so I let it slide.
