what 12pt font gets more letters per page?

I finished a 6 page paper w/ a 5 page requirement
(death results if over 5pages)

Besides editing, what font will fit more words per page so I can squeeze under the requirement?

Any tips are appreciated

Thx

Arial narrow's got to be up there.

.9 spacing if it's supposed to be 1, 1.9 if it's supposed to be 2, decrease spacing between letters by 10%, decrease margins by a tiny amount.

I always fudged with the tabs, borders, and line spacing as well. But that was usually to eek out extra pages =)

univers condensed (very thin and tall looking 12 pt)
arial narrow (probably the least obvious but not the most space saving)

vrinda (obvious and smallish looking for 12 pt)
kartika (even more obvious)

The last two actually look like 10 or 11 pt fonts when compared to the first two, so you could get some criticism for that. I guess I?d go with arial narrow simply because it looks the best but at the same time it isn?t completely obvious of the few I messed with.

courier new?

definitely courier new.

I think everyone thats been in college recently knows that the answer is courier new. I'm pretty sure an 'i' takes up as much space as an 'm' in courier new.

yep, courier new is a fixed width font.

are there any other fixed width fonts that take up as much room as courier?
