No, not the support device to aid in walking...
I get in to work today to hear this (We've got a Walker!) from a co-worker. It seems in my new prairie-cube environment (low cube walls), I have a new resident in the cube diagonally from me. It seems this new person (who is in IT too) is a fan of the blue-tooth phone headsets and likes to walk around while having phone conversations or meetings.
I don't bemoan the loss of an office. I went from a windowed executive office before the acquisition to a windowless office after. The new space is airy and I have a long row of windows to look outside. Also I get to hear other managers bitch about the new work environment but are powerless to do anything about it. If I would bitch, it would be about the loss of my whiteboard where I kept a lot of my ideas/work/plans because my brain is too small to hold all that in.
However it has only been half a day and the new person has been on the phone the whole time. And this person paces...and paces. She hasn't walked behind me because her desk is on the opposite side but I do face her when I'm typing and looking at my monitors.
The coworker at the end of her row and closest to the window is starting to make growling noises as the new person seems to like hanging out by the windows while talking (oh did I mention the pacing?)
I wonder if the irritation from the others is coming from the walking and talking or that this person is the most junior of all of us? (This person's boss by the way is a remote manager.) Maybe a lunch break will reveal all.
