So the FCC has a do not call list to prevent you from receiving unwanted solicitation calls. That works well... right?

Now the FCC say they have stopped the car warranty scam calls... I'm not holding my breath.

Now if they could only stop the "Hi! I'm calling to offer you a great deal from Hilton Hotels," robocalls...

I keep getting the "you have a parcel waiting for pick up". Usually it's Best Buy or Amazon.

I haven't had the car warranty calls all week, and I'm good for at least two a day. Here's hoping!

Yeah, I keep getting those charges made for iPhone or whatever emails. I don't worry about stuff like that, I look over my CC monthly bills for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary.

Used to get a lot of those car warranty calls, but lately I seem to be under the radar for robocalls. I get maybe 3 a week. It's my landline, I don't take calls on my cell phone unless I'm expecting one.

So a little déjà vu, got one the other day, same dialogue, as it always was.

Now they need to work on the others, like the reducing your CC interest rate, or reducing your utilities bills.

I got one from a utility bill alternative something or other yesterday. Saw that on the phone's LCD (landline), so didn't pick up and they didn't leave a message.

Call me radical.
We are all making fewer calls.
Connection or long distance charges should come back to end the bullshit calls. Millions of those small fees per day would add up and likely make bulk calling much less desirable.

Samsung's built-in anti-spam utility works pretty well but I block all numbers not in my contacts anyway.

Although this does stop callers from ringing my phone it does nothing to prevent them/it from leaving a LONG voice-message.

I finally got fed up and turned my voicemail off completely which fortunately Ting is able to do and Google Fi could not. You want to reach me you can text or email.

We also have a landline for a number of reasons, including the alarm system... thus not an option.

The calling screening on my Pixel rules these people. Google Assistant answers and says it is screen calls for me, please state your business.

I think if you don't answer for 10 days, they'll piss off. Or at least not call you daily.

Idk.... I literally NEVER answer calls from a number not in my contacts and they're still relentless. (fortunately once I turned my voicemail off I no longer had to deal with it directly deleting 5-minute robo-messages)

Robocalls have actually mostly stopped for me. Only one in the last few weeks.

This is a big deal. Been thinking for years the lack of FCC action on this is a shit-stain on the nation. It wasn't like this some years ago. You could pick up the phone and know the call was either for you or the occasional wrong number.

My answering machine message actually says leave a message or your number will be automatically blocked in the future.

I'll see that and raise you!

My voicemail is turned OFF. ;)

(Anyone I want to hear from knows to text/email me)

I got a call from a number only a few days ago that I didn't recognize. I wasn't close to the phone to answer it anyways, so ti was only a misssed call with no message.

But shortly after I got an email from a local branch of a bank wanting to talk about the new account I had opened. I knew it was legit, so I replied telling them to have their system programmed to add the bank name. I don't know if they will or not.
