Not a problem.

I will continue my tests throughout today, just need to round up an XBOX360 and maybe a digital cable box and see what comes of it. I'm still deciding on this screendoor effect problem, to return or not to return - that is the question. Suppose I'll open monitor #2 and examine soon.

Other than this small defect though, of which is quite subtle - everything else checks out. 🙂

Monitor #2 is open.

There appears to be no whine when the brightness is set below 100 - 1 point.
The screendoor effect appears to be more-so subtle than screen number 1 - 1 point.
After calibration it also looks fabulous - 1 point.
One dead pixel right in the MIDDLE of the screen - minus 100 points.

Damnit.

Now I have to decide if I'm going to return both and hope to get 2 perfect units or just return the one that has a dead pixel and live with the slight screendoor effect that I notice if I look on the first one (and the whine from the monitor, which doesn't really bother me).

It's at BestBuy, so no shipping or anything like that.

What would you guys do? 😛

This monitor doenst look so bad other than the fact that it has no DVI port and that the red/yellow/white rca inputs are on the side of the monitor.

OK I might end up buying this by the end of today, so speedy answers are definitely welcome 😛

I might be getting th is monitor. I'd be ordering it off BB's website, as I don't have any near me. I've been searching for a 24" monitor for a while, especially for *VA. It will be used for gaming, movies, and connecting my ps3.

For $329+shipping, should I get this? How do consoles look on it?

Hmm, might want to open the replacements at Best Buy before going home with them.

Yeah, I'm going to be opening/testing both at GeekSquad before I go home with them to make sure they are both 100% perfect. I don't want to make a million trips to the store, eff that.

Anyhow, the inputs on the side are actually a nice touch to whomever was questioning that.

Oh, and for those of you who are interested but either your local store or Bestbuy.ca sold out starting Friday Dec 28th they will be re-stocking this monitor at both the local stores and online for people who missed it.

Highly highly recommend it. Thing is gorgeous, just gotta get 2 perfect monitors and I'll be in heaven.

Exchanged both units today at BestBuy and both news units are perfect it seems.

Even with my eyes an inch away from the screen I can barely notice what people on Hard are calling the screendoor effect and both have zero dead pixels.

After calibration they both look incredible and I can hardly wait for my two DVI-to-HDMI cables to come in the mail so I can set these babies up in dual-screen. Once my setup is all said and done I'll post some close-ups of the screen and some quality text shots for those of you who might be interested.

All in all, for $660 + 14% sales tax I walked away with 2 24'' monitors that both have an MVA panel where it would normally cost nearly that much for one single monitor, roughly. Couldn't be happier.

Well, the HDMI to DVI cables arrived.

Anyone have any calibration settings? 'Cause right now it looks like poop.
