I couldn't find this in the last few pages, so, apologies if it's a repost.

Anyway, I just ordered mine this morning, figured I'd pass it on to anyone else who may be interested.

This is a good deal no doubt, but this seems better to me, http://www.vizio.com/products/detail.aspx?pid=31 It'll be out in a few weeks for 999.99 @ Costco. For some it may be too big to use as a monitor though.

I'd be careful of that at this point... The site says this:

Supported TV Formats
1080p, 1080i, 720p, 720i, 480p, 480i

Native Panel Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Supported PC Resolutions
1366 x 768, 1280 x 720, 1024 x 768, 800 x 600

Either they forgot to add the 1920 X 1080 resolution, or they don't support true 1080P @ 60Hz. Some of the 1080p TV's are 50Hz and thus, a PC will be unable to display the true native resolution. Stay away from this thing (The Vizio) UNTIL we know more facts.

You are absolutely right. They messed up on the stat sheet which is clearly not reassuring. Basically, an engineer assured me they are in fact 1920 x 1080 thru HDMI with a PC. Regardless, they apparently have a 120mhz unit coming with the Genesis Cortez chip shortly after. So I would second the Sept exc for the slick slick deals.

Yes but that Visio is also $999 not $799. $200 price difference is not insignificant.

I agree. That is why I said it looks better to me. It is larger, 42 vs 37 and has the built in tuners. Although for some it may not work for their intended purpose. It could be too big to use as a monitor.

after tax, shipping, and membership one is $950 and another $1150.

I used my mother-in-law's membership for mine. She was gracious enough to put it on her credit card and I wrote her a check. So, $899.44 out the door, when I was waiting and expecting a deal through newegg at $899 + $70 shipping.

Thing is, I've been waiting and saving for a monitor for at least 6 months (and talking about it for over 2 years 😛 ). For me, the timing on this was perfect.

I had contemplated a recert 42" from newegg at $999, but couldn't convince myself that it wouldn't be too big, recertified aside (who doesn't like "brand new"?).

And that Visio does look nice, in that it's 42" of 1080p at a decent price, but that doesn't really tell you anything about the monitor. It may be a dud. The westy has plenty of good reviews from satisfied users; enough to solidify my choice.

My thoughts exactly, lots of satisfied people, on just anandtech alone. I mostly game on my computer, and I've been using it for my xbox 360 as well, other than that i'm surfing the net. i couldn't convince myself that this was not the perfect monitor for me. I was looking at spending at least 400 on a 20" as i wanted a true 8-bit panel. I'm glad this deal came around. For 903 shipped to the door i think it's a no brainer, especially in my position, never again will i worry about my xbox scaling the 1280x720 image because a developer didn't think someone using the HD cable to hook up to their 1280x1024 lcd (perfect to display 1280x720 1:1) would care if the image was scaled.
