Western Digital WD2500KS 250GB only showing up as 127GB!!!

hey everyone I'm looking for some help I just bought a Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB SATA hard drive, quite nice for the price but I just reformated with it and my BIOS recognizes it as 250gb but windows only 127gb. Do I need Windows XP SP2? I'm still running the original copy of windows. eekkk. any help? thanks

yes, you can get that space back after you install sp2 within windows

yes you do you hit the barrier of sp1 install sp2 and you will be fine

agh! I installed SP2 update wise and that didn't help. Don't tell me I have to do it on a clean install then I need to buy a new copy of windows...any help?

If you have partition magic, you can append the unallocated space onto an existing partition.
