Western Digital Raptor X 150GB

Usually Ships: Same Day

Generally In Stock

that generally in stock doesnt sound too good
the price itself isnt bad for that drive tho

I would avoid onsale.com at all costs. Wait for newegg to get them in stock - it will be worth it!!

This $282 is for the Raptor 1500ADFD, not the X (the X is 1500AHFD). The MSRP for this model is $299, so this price is in line with what should be expected from online retailers.

a friend ordered one of these new 150GB Raptors from onSale.com on Sunday night, and they shipped it out quickly. Delivery is scheduled for this Thursday. Perhaps he was lucky, but I wouldn't blanket condemn the outfit as an unremittingly sleazy non-performer (although I realize PC Mall Inc., the parent company of onsale.com, pcmall.com, macmall.com, ecost.com, and clubmac.com, has gotten its share of consumer complaints over the years).

I myself have had one dealing with ecost--back in 2001 I handled for my dad the ordering of a Philips Brilliance 18" LCD monitor for an astronomical $1100 that at the time seemed cheap--and they delivered it without incident.

These are about the same $/GB as the 74GB version. I haven't been able to find any information on seek times for the drive, their own website doesn't even pull up a page lol.

try HERE.

This new Raptor appears to have marginally slower read and write access times than the 74GB drive. However, for real-world performance it's another story, the new model annihilating its little brother across the board (and in many benchmarks, a great many 15K SCSI drives too!).

Damn, that sure looks sexy! Can't wait for those anti-raptor people to come in and try to persuade everyone to ditch raptors again.

this is not the Raptor X..
Raptor X should be the clear verison..
WD1500AHFD
seems like the only place have it on sale is Newegg.
