Western Digital RAID question

I posted earlier about Segate drives but now I am looking at Western digital. Would there be any problem mixing different series? I am looking at the RE2, the SE2, and the RE2 Green Edition. Would a mixed batch of these play well through a motherboard BIOS based RAID 5?

Thanks,
Gunner

It shouldn't be a huge problem to mix drives. If you get different capacities, you'll potentially have some unusable space. Other than that, different performing drives just mean that the slowest drive will be hold up the faster drives.

One thing to point out, though, is that the Green drives are a lot slower than other WD drives, so I would think twice about pairing that with a non-green drive just because performance characteristics are very different. That said, it should still work.
