This is Western Digital. They seem pretty good about sending out rebates.

edit: lolz. Just noticed its two rebates and one is a Best Buy rebate.

"Seagate fiasco"? Do tell.

I'm waiting on a Seagate rebate that's showing "Your rebate is valid and is scheduled for final processing." Been several months already but no cigar. Bought several other parts at the same time and the Seagate rebate is only one that has not come through - other than Fuji but I never expected to get that one!

WD is good about rebates, Seagate isn't.

Seagate has been rejecting rebates for bogus reasons lately. The worst part is they wait the full 12 weeks before rejecting it. I got mine "fixed" by calling in, but i'm not doing any more Seagate rebates.

This is a how Seagate is rejecting most rebates: "Serial number submitted is not a seagate retail hard drive serial number." Seagate/Parago knows these aren't OEM drives since they require the whole model/serial label removed from the retail box.

Just read up on this. As I've found with all rebates, be it Seagate or not:

- You should always have backup copies of your rebates and information
- If it doesn't show after the specified time, just call them up, and it will be immediately sorted out.

I bought six Seagate drives last year and I think the only time I ever had a rebate problem was on a big pack of Fuji DVDs. Again, a simple phone call, the person asked for my info, and I recieved the check literally days later.

Just my $0.02.

the problem is you shouldnt have to call for rebates. all you are required to do is fill out the form and mail all the things they ask for. they dont usually say "step 4- call us in 12 weeks because we are trying to screw you out of your money." i did what was required, i shouldnt have to jump through hoops and waste my time making phone calls to get them to follow thru on their end of the deal
