Five year warranty and WD's reliabilty is pretty good. What's not to like there fanboy?

Seagate does not rate their 7200.9 or 7200.10 drives for 100% duity cycle. They are some thing like 30-40%-ish.

I have little loyalty to any one company. In my computer I have a pair of Hitachi 7K250, One WD 40GB (unknown model number), one Samsung 40GB HDD, and a 320GB External Western Digital Mybook 1394 to back it all up.

I use the Samsung for downloads and temporary folders/files. I have not had much trouble with any of them except one of my 7K250 drives reports back a minor S.M.A.R.T. error and will be replaced via Hitachi's pain in the but RMA process.

It is warm I agree, but price per GB it is a nice buy.

All of those (except newegg @ $184) have shipping charges, ZipZoomFly.com does not charge for shipping. $170 from zippy shipped.
 
I am wary of dealing with ZZF now, at work we ordered a 750gb drive from them and received an open box which contained a 250gb drive that someone had put a 750gb label on. This led to a painful return process where ZZF tried charging a 15% restocking fee despite sending us an opened, used, incorrect product.

I'd had good experiences with them in the past but this most recent customer support nightmare has definitely soured me on ordering from ZZF in the future as their CS has been shown to be far below that of a site like Newegg.

Just love Seagate drives. Never had one go bad yet...............
No matter what the warranty is.

Had a Western Digital 80gig go bad after 2 weeks. It was new ITB. Got an RMA, but it sure left a bad taste in my mouth.

I won't buy WD either!!!
Have had two hd failures, including the one they've send me as a replacement.:|
Since then I've gotten like 6 Seagates which have been great so far!
 
If I had 5 hard drives die, all from WD, it doesn't mean they produce more bad drives than [insert company name here].

Let's say WD ships out 1 million drives. 100 of those are bad. Chances that you get some of the bad drives is VERY rare, but it does happen. There is also a chance that you will get all 100 bad drives. If you get more than 1, that doesn't mean the company is bad. It means you have bad luck.

Your reasons for not buying WD or Seagate has no merit. Newbies who come here looking for information take that BS seriously, and then continue to spread rumors.

2 failed hard drives in a row will keep ME from purchasing another one.

How could a drive possibly last about 137 years at 100% duty cycle without failing? I don't understand how they come up with these MTBF figures...

Well the worst part is how freaking long it is. Is there a setting to not show signatures here? That would save a lot of wasted effort reading this forum, though most of it is a waste anyway.
