Installed properly meant with the correct alignment for the O/S used

In the techarp link, they have ref to their other articles on setting up these type drives

Still have no idea what you are talking about...

So for example XP needs the disk in a horizontal mount and win 7 needs it in a vertical mount? if so, how the f--- does that make any sense?

I'm pretty sure the reference to "alignment" is in terms of a partition alignment or something to this effect.

Well, I gave the technical explanation in the other WDC 2TB hotdeal thrd and got flamed. Said I made it too complicated by the OP and some other poster. See most folks on AT want a one or two sentence answer. Actually hot deals is no place for this anyways.

It makes perfect sense. Also, if you use them with OSX you have to mount them diagonally because that's how Apple rolls.
