Western Digital 250GB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive NO REBATES

I'll bump this, since I found it very convenient to find a very competitive price with no rebate hassle and just a short drive away.
-- I was going to buy 2, but I figured I would get instant satisfaction for one, and then order it for slightly cheaper online later this month.

Usually customary to put the price in the title or subtitle.... and not to break it to you, but you've been able to get that drive at that price for some time... take a look here

Keep in mind the online ones are OEM and don't include the "SecureConnect" SATA cable.

I am unsure if WD has a different warranty period for their retail drives (like Maxtor), so that would be something to check.

These drives are awesome. I have 3 in RAID0 on an A8N SLI Premium and get 141MB/s per SiSoft Sandra on the Nforce controller (but only 95mb/s on the 3rd Part SATA-II controller, so it must be software instead of hardware). They're also very quiet (for drives).

Big :thumbsup:

The BB deal happens to be warm as well if you have a bunch of RZ certificates to burn, too. 🙂

warranty

oem = 3 yr
retail = 1yr with option to extend to 3yr for $15

that seems backwards to me -- but thats it

the secure connect cable is nice - seems like all the sata cables are stiff and would be easy to snap off the connector on the the drive. this cable had a wider connector that fits into the WD slot more securely.
