Was posted somewhere else that SAMS Club has a WD 20GB for $100. Supposedly there's a $40 rebate to get the price to $60. (Plus the $.33 for the stamp and the sales tax because it's gotta be done local).

Otherwise, nice post. It's very rare to find a HardDrive for <$90 that doesn't involve a rebate or isn't a refurb/used drive for sale.

I got this drive (OEM version) over a year ago for a bit over double the price. I've been happy with it. Quiet, and back when I got it, it was the speedier of the 5400rpm drives.

This is actually a good deal. It's not a screaming 7200, but 13 GB of new and 3 year warranty storage for 59.88 plus reasonable shipping qualifies this as a very warm deal.

IMO this is a better deal than the sams' drive because of the low hassle factor involved. Grabbed one of these drives just now to add to my $200 "myfavortepc" and with another 32 megs of ram it is going to make a sweet low buck linux box.

Like everybody else, I'm saving so much I'm going broke!

For anyone that has a $20 off $100 electronics code, this is a great way to use it! I picked up 2 drives for $107 shipped. Hopefully I'll be able to sell one for a good amount on eGay, making the one I keep for myself really cheap :)

I believe the Shopss computers came with these drives. I would give it an average rating. WD is pretty good quality, but this drive is not the fastest. This price kicks though!

Got one for my second FlexATX system. Low heat from 5400rpm is more ideal in the tiny box. No rebate hustle, straight forward, easy deal. Thanks.

Or if you don't want to spend 40 extra dollars to get 20 off and pay for shipping..check to see if Staples carries it , Price Match it and use a 20 off coupon and free shipping. Western Digital doesn't list this as a hard drive qualifying for a rebate. Staples may add the cost of shipping. Technically they can, so it will depend on your CSR. They may want to add next day shipping but I always get out of that. This item won't be available for next day delivery to you by Staples so since they can't deliver it next day then they shouldn't add next day delivery cost onto your price...that is one argument I have been known to use ;-)

There are coupons running around for free ink jet paper or a free camera (it is hard to get a CSR to let you use both) that you can add to the deal

So why would you go to Staples

You may get no cost of shipping added on
You can get 23 bucks of paper or a 15 camera for free
And you don't need to add 40 bucks of stuff to get 20 off

As far as I know Staples does not carry the Western Digital brand, only Maxtor. At least at my B&M this is the case.

The stores aren't carrying the brand unless you find a rare store with old stock or something...which is why the whole Sam's Price Match deal was so difficult. I am speaking of online Staples.
