About $160 out the door with tax with around $80 in two MIRs. I grabbed the last one at an Austin B&M Sunday and just installed it- beaut!

This caught my eye in the Sunday flyer this week and I didn't see anyone else post about it in the first few pages on here.

Well, when a retail store can beat NewEgg by thirty bucks, that's pretty hot. And it's my own personal opinion that Western Digital > Seagate

my problem with these is the whine. rma'd one and new one whines not as loud. other 3 year warranty is great and their rma is great. they actually send a drive to you then you return your product

a lot of deals on 80, 120 gigs that singles out to 50 cent a gig, so newegg isn't so special anymore

in a lot of ppl's opinion and experience, i heard seagate is more quiter and outperforms wd.

I have noticed that this 120 is quieter than my previous 80- little if any noticeable whine. I also just overhauled my system with a retail AMD heatsink/fan and ASUS motherboard with their Q-Fan feature... that plus this new hdd and it's the quietest system I've ever built. Love it.

before you make a statement like yours, take into consideration different people's system fans, and more importantly their sensitivity to noise.

Just a FYI, retail-packaged WD JB drives no long have a 3-year warrantee, after Oct. 1, 2003.

by the way, i like my computers very quiet. so it seems this may be a very subjective topic. if you don't build silent computer systems then get this hd, if you build silent computer systems then don't get it, get the seagate at compussr

I never thought we would see they day.... .50 a gig! When I was just a whippersnapper.... In my day..... We walked uphill both ways in the snow to pay $500 a gig and liked it! How will I ever fill a gig drive? Oh wait that was like only 10 years ago!

1984: $1,595 for a 16 megabyte hard drive, in an external case, with controller. $400 for a Hayes 1200 baud internal modem. $600 for an AST 6 pack card with 384K of memory. Need I go on?
