The SATA drive is fluid dynamic bearing, which is good & WD's site shows it's more quiet than some of the other WD models, but loud compared to other company's offerings. The only review I could find was for the 250GB model: http://www.storagereview.com/a...0030904WD2500JD_1.html This review indicates that WD uses a PATA-to-SATA conversion chip, but the review is old (September 4, 2003). Does anyone know if this bridge is still used and/or if there are any other reviews? Thanks!

i dont know, last i read, there were very few 'true' sata drives(most used some kind of conversion chip or something)
also, i read that not many sata drives support command cueing(?)(i think thats what its called)

AFAIK, Seagate is only native SATA drive in the mainstream market. (Except Raptor 😛) And for NCQ, again, Seagate is only offering the feature with thier newest line-up (300GB+ models), AFAIK.

"asap"? what does "asap" mean? I know what "A.S.A.P." means, but I can't figure out "asap". 😀 😉

is this online or bm? cuz i don't see this deal online
Go further down on the page to the listings and you'll see the drives. Click on the drive(s) and you see rebates below. Note the Antec case is a tempting deal too! I used to like 15 minutes from a Microcenter... Hrm.. 8.75% tax or shipping? Hrm 😉.

Keep in mind that since these are retail boxed WD drives, only 1-year warranty on them. Still a good price, just wanted to make sure everyone knows these aren't the 3-year variety.
