Western Digital 120gb $14.99 after rebate at Best Buy

Western Digital 120gb hard drive $14.99 after rebates at Bestbuy.

Drive is advertised $34.99 after rebate this week. Use the $20 off any hard drive coupon.

Coupon link

$34.99 after rebate - $20 coupon = $14.99

Be careful; in the small print of one of the $30 rebates it states "BestBuy.com rebates are valid with online purchases only. "
The $20 of coupon you are referring to, is only valid in-store.
So a big YMMV getting that one $30 rebate

OMG you have got to be joking....

Your looking at the rebate form for online purchases.

Yes, online and in-store rebate forms are different at Best Buy. Go to the Best Buy rebate center and you will see the in-store $30 rebate form....

So you are saying if you buy it in store the receipt prints out two $30 rebate forms. That is all that I want clarity on.

Exactly! 🙂

That's weird - as BestBuy links the rebate themselves:

Dude,

It clearly says "In-store rebates are valid on in-store purchases only. BestBuy.com rebates are valid with online purchases only. "

The rebate you get in-store is an in-store rebate. Its really simple....

Same here! While the the 30-foot reciept was being printed, the lady said "And here's your 30 dollar ma....er....and here's another one! Looks like you've been on one of those deal websites"

yeah...$14.99 for a 120gb hard drive. Kick arse!

This is going towards my peice-together deal Linux computer!

Well, I printed up the coupon, drove down to BestBuy, and when I made it up to the counter I was told that the coupon was bogus. I spoke to the manager about it and he said that the corporate headquarters had issued a warning about these coupons and instructed them to stop taking them. I asked him how this could possibly be, as it was in THIER computers. He claimed that thier systems had been hacked and insisted that BestBuy did not give out promotional coupons that you could print up at home. I left without my 120 gigs 🙁
BTW, I am in Denver CO, and the store was at 92nd & sheridan, maybe I can save you a drive.
Is this even a real bonified Bestbuy coupon? I'm kinda pissed that I had to waste the gas down there and back for nothing.
I am fairly sure that I wasn't getting lied to. I took down names and made it clear I would "look into it."
I can't find a corporate headquarters phone number to call, and the place that has the pdf does look a little funny, it won't allow me access to much of anything else on images.bestbuy.com it says that sstage.bestbuy.com is already running.
....a little more digging: here read this about confirmed FRAUD bullpoo (my first try at linking)
Yes folks it must an inside job.
Bummer for me, bummer for you.

Its not a bogus coupon. It has been confirmed by corprated and it works at the register when scanned.

Sorry but you were lied to my friend.

just picked up mine, coupon scanned just fine... SUPER HOT chick at the register commented "wow thats a great deal."

I <heart> her in a very creepy way.

The coupon is not a fraud. I received the email from Best Buy with the link to the coupon. The coupon has been on Best Buy's site for more than 2 weeks now.

See the email complete with link to coupon here.

When I used it, it scanned into their register and showed up as $20 off a notebook case, which was what I was purchasing. Amazing that a fraudulent coupon would be accepted into their computers and show up correctly. More amazing that it is still on their site after all this time. (I got the email aug 18.)

That's exactly what I told the manager, he told me their "systems had been hacked"
Figures...I read about people walking in with this coupon and walking out with a free 512mb stick of RAM. I am not saying that it never worked, it just didn't for me.
The question is: Is this a legitimate coupon issued by BestBuy?
I don't think so. Try to ping images.bestbuy.com and see if you can track down someone real to talk to about the legitimacy of thier "coupons".
If you get a number let me know I'll happily call them and give them a piece of my slightly unsettled mind.
I wonder how legitimate that e-mail you got is, allisolm.

The casher took the rebate without a word. This is done at City of Industry, CA store. They still got many on the shelf.

$94.99 - $20.00 = $74.99 + $6.19 (tax) = $81.18 - $30.00 - $30.00 = $21.18 final price, excellent deal for a 120GB HDD. But too bad it only got 1 year warranty, so I may buy the extended warranty for $14.95 online. $21.18 + $14.95 = $36.13, still a excellent deal.

Holy Moly! All of Best Buy got hacked! Every page!

stupid amateur hackers. Any real guys worth their salt would have thrown 'free doughnuts' with the $20 off coupon or 'win a date with SUPER HOT chick at the register'
