I could see using an exercise bike and typing (maybe), but a treadmill?

they had something about this on the local news a month or so ago. the people using it would hardly move at all, they would be literally walking like 1mph or so.

Yeah if it was a stationary bike it wouldn't be too hard to type, but you kind of have to use your hands and arms while jogging to keep your body balanced. I remember seeing a pedal power controller awhile back that cut power to your TV screen if you didn't pedal fast enough...I should really hook up my Xbox to my exercise equipment lol.

How come there is no gym that hook up all their exercise machines to dynamos? They may as well generate some electricity while people are exercising. Turn all that wasted kinetic energy into some electricity! At the very least it will offset the gym's electric bill. And you can really market the hell out of it on the whole global warming angle.

Seriously, why do people pay to walk on a tread mill to talk on a phone at a gym?

Proceed to walk off the tread mill and walk to a place less crowded (so the person waiting 30 minutes can use). While you continue to talk on your phone, please notice the cliff and jump off of it.
