We're preparing to enable account creation in the beta test,
in order to load-test our servers.
This will happen sometime next week.
In preparation we modified the project web site
(http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/ap/) a little.
The name of the project is changed from "Astropulse"
to "BOINC Beta Test".
We also added some warnings about participating in the test;
please take the time to read them.

There is ever-increasing interest in BOINC outside of SETI@home.
Work is starting on a BOINC-based version of Folding@home.
We have had preliminary conversations with CERN
about integrating BOINC with the Globus-based Grid systems
being developed at CERN and other physics research centers.
These are exciting times!

I sure hope that the nix client for boinc is better than the one for seti@home. I had to move 4 of my machines back to 98se to get any speed at all and now that I have hit my goal the machines are going back to linux.

Have they fixed the scoring problems so that the results are validated? I got tired of having my computer crunch 5 hours to get 0 pts because 2 other people had problems and finished the work unit in 7 seconds.

Well, I've not got any credit in Seti yet... Then again, I've not got much credit in Astropulse either...
Oh well, since still beta, they'll zeroing the credits before release.
The only can hope on is they'll make a top-cruncher-list like for the seti-beta.

Yes, Thank you SirUlli and all of the German DC Enthusiasts.

You guys were great support when I was under attack too.

I told the BBC in that interview of how a German Journalist when he called here in the middle of the night how he said he couldn't understand how Georgia and the U.S. is so against DC when every School and Institution runs DC over there. That was when I said the real crime is not using Computers to their fullest with their ability to help better Mankind.
