TBH, what took them so long?

We are the country that invaded/bombed Vietnam, Iraq, Iraq again, Libya, and Syria as the latest.

And that's just a brief list of questionable military actions, let alone the "good" bombings (eg Somalia....)

We start a lot of shit. Often well meaning, but the results are pretty mixed.

No they are not well meaning. You are only conditioned and brain washed to think so. Like most of us.

Yup brief list. Goes back much longer.

Kind of amazing that Trump has managed to squander all US soft power accumulated since the end of WWII in less than 2 years and basically kick open the door for China to take over our role.

Amazing. Such a great brain.

Its a badly worded poll. The word threat implies something in the future. America is not a threat to world peace. It is one of the biggest causes and instigators of violence and suffering around the world, today in the present and for a long time past. If the military industrial complex were shut down today, tomorrow the world will be a better place

Do we know who conducted the poll in Japan? I could not find a source in the article beyond
and one conducted in Japan among a sample of 1,000 from May 18 – June 3.
While it's fun to call people ignorant and other names for not knowing how polls work it is equally as important to know who conducted the poll called into question.

I guess, by judging you two very intelligent people, being smart and NOT having shit for brains means calling people names. Man I havent done that since grade school. Ill have to brush up!

Doesn't bother to understand how statistics works. Calls other people idiots for not giving him the time when he makes this blithe, proud ignorance plain, and thus ripe for ridicule.

sounds about right for Trumptardia.

You sir, are correct!

(well, it's not equally as important--if the test is solid either way, it doesn't matter--but it is a very valid question, particularly in this day and age)

I'd like to see what percentage of Japanese think US military bases in Japan should be closed. Actually, I'd like to see that poll for every country that has a US base.

I may not be Japanese, but I, too, am skeered ta death by America under Trump. You?

Trump has a ways to go to be actually scary to the world at large.

It's not what they look like....that doesn't really matter. It's the power of the office that makes them dangerous. That can be said for any person who is the leader of a country though not just past or current Presidents.

What a stupid thing to say.

43 was someone looking to do the right thing but was ignorant of the world and the nature of those who were around him.

45 has no one around him and so relies on his far greater ignorance and no idea what "the right thing" is in terms of functional humans.

One was on a mission and the other entirely self-centered. In terms of war 43 was the more dangerous, at least for now. In terms of attacking the underpinnings of democracy? 45 by far.

Oh I understood very well what 1profit was getting at.

The impact of Trump will be far reaching. True of Bush and I of course was appalled but it's not just American democracy on the line (though Americans will miss it) the guy isn't right in his head. He's volatile, unpredictable, impulsive, vengeful, petty, petulant and cruel as well as a predator and devoid of humanity. He truly has not one redeeming quality.

This is why I am so disgusted by his supporters. I believe they know all of those things about him yet they still think by some fu*king unscrupulous fluke (no I've never used those words together before but here I am) that taint on the planet will produce a better life for them. It's insanity. No it's not just democracy on the line, it's empowering and emboldening and heartbreakingly indoctrinating the filth within American society.

43 is a failed President. 45 is a failed human being.

In Kansas we described Brownback as a very consequential governor, not a good one. I would call Trump a consequential president but a certainly not a good one.

The Japanese poll was conducted by a Japanese think tank called Genron NPO. Here are links that provide more details on the polls and methods.
