Went to the Bronx Zoo

Since today was such an awesome day in NY, I decided to go to the Bronx Zoo with a friend of mine. Here are some pictures from my day. They were taken with a Canon PowerShot S400, mostly automatic settings for anyone that wonders why they don't look nearly as good as some of the other photos that have been posted here. I certainly wouldn't call any of it art, just a small glimpse of what I saw today. Anyway, enjoy.

No. I had no intention of being some animal's meal or winding up in jail for the night.

They were all within the exhibit "Mouse House", so they all got the generic term mice/mouse.

The two red pandas (the one in the Himilaya area and the on the Bengali Express Monorail) were pretty active yesterday so that you actually could see them for once.

This would be a better thread if you HAD jumped the moat and a lion tore off your arm or something and another person took pictures of it with your camera. And you still posted the pix on ATOT. That would make it an all time classic thread.

That picture of a puffin is great! I memorized this poem of a puffin when I was a kid. I wish I had seen it in person!

We didn't go up to Tiger Mountain because of the large crowd at the time. There was a tiger on the Bengali Express, but the picture I did get was really blurry and you could barely see it.

No. I wanted to go to the butteryfly zone though and see the sea lions, but we were restricted for time since my friend needed to be back before 5 and the sea lions won't be back until Summer 2007 .

I'm surprised some of the pictures (like the puffin) came out so well. The glass was really dirty in some cases so it was hard to get a good picture. But it was a cool picture to see that puffin like that.
