there's a Starbucks in the lobby of my office, but other than that, I'd have to go out of my way to get to one.

I believe that is Union Square. Cool place.

I've never been in one before either. This is the first time I've lived in a town that has one. Apparently there is exactly one in my city.

I can see 2 from my window :(

Otherwise will have to do with either putting up with those artist type people that dress in black (like i do now) or make start making it myself.

...interesting no one else has commented on that gem...though the distractions of the original topic are obvious..

I don't necessarly consider going to a starbucks for a first time sheltered, there was a huge news story in Chicago about starbucks being divided according to racial lines, with the first starbucks opening in a black neighborhood here a few months ago.

Now . . . one of my friends . . . he's a senior in college. We took him to taco bell for the first time on a food raid during a lan party  Ok, never being to the bell, maybe sheltered. Never being to the bell after FOUR YEARS AT COLLEGE (especially at our campus where drunken raids to the taco bell on the hill are a ritual) . . . wtf

Starbucks is the den of the yuppie, those are scary scary people. And their coffee beans are horrid. Broken, burnt, and just plain nasty.

Probably. In Utah I can think of at least 3 off the top of my head and I haven't been in SLC since last summer.

Starbucks normal coffee=bad, overroasted crap
Starbucks expresso drinks pretty good

wouldn't that make him MORE likely to go to taco bell, not less? Taco Bell == $1/lb. of food

The same thing in downtown LA. Two starbucks facing each other and from what I've heard both are packed during the day. There are 3 starbucks in a 2 block perimeter around UCLA, and there is an Starbucks inside USC. In summary...they are friggin everywhere around here.

Why the hell does a $30K speaker wire not use silver? What possible advantage could copper have that makes up for the resistance difference at this price point?

The only Starbucks in the central IL area are the minibucks inside Barnes and Nobles book stores.

The gossip is that a full Starbucks will be opening in Springfield soon.
