long hair, not really hot, drives a honda. :)

yeah i mean i am NOT gonna ask for the $25 of course...she can have it as a Christmas present...i'm just surprised and weirded out about how my personal cert# was used by someone not in my household. And i'm just wondering if i should:

1) LET IT SLIDE, DO NOTHING.

or

2) CONFRONT HER(probably be real nice in a joking sorta way but let her know it was mine?).

Hmm im pretty sure thats still considered private property so its technically against the law to be snooping through other people's trash

It is private property if it is still at the house. If it's at the sidewalk, it's public. If she tresspassed, file charges.

Doesn't it become town property once it's at the sidewalk?

You and the trash lady are both freaks. I'll probably never meet anyone who does the sh!t you do(which is to write down the cert# so the coupon can be discarded). I'd tell that lady that she's a creepy motherfvcker. And start taking dumps in your garbage bag.

Trash, garbage, etc. is defined as abandoned property. This is why cops can rummage through trash without a warrant.
If you don't want someone to use it, shred it.

If you've got a big bag with hundreds of cross-cut papers in it, it makes it a bit more difficult then simply pulling out a piece of paper with your bank account or credit card number on it.

It's kind of like using a lock. A professional is going to get what they want either way, but a person who wouldn't do it otherwise simply won't.

Yup, it's been ruled in several court cases that your garbage is public domain once you toss it.
