Hey guys, I've been going to the gym (4 days a week) but for the last two months I stopped... I decided to go back today and had a weird thing happen.

I was going a little hard but I don't think that hard.

When I was doing back raises, I started to get lightheaded, I had to sit down.

My body got really weird (felt cold), my vision was super bright (looking outside was weird), and then my vision basically was black (I could see movement of people but could not see much).

I drank some water and had a Gatorade and felt fine afterwards. I had blood test about 2 weeks ago and didn't have diabetes.

The only thing I could think of is that all I had was a turkey sandwich before working out.

My breathing was shitty with my cold so that could have attributed to it as well.

Anyone ever experience this?

Might have pushed your blood pressure up. I've had a similar kind of thing happen where my vision starts to go black, like a foggy tunnel vision, when I'm going hard. Did you feel kind of clammy when you got cold?

Yes I def felt clammy. Maybe that was it. I was outside getting gas in work out shorts and it's cold.... It was scary. :(

Yeah I've had that happen on long cardio stuff like running or biking...it's like you get a wet chill and then like you've walked into a dark room and your head gets a little airy. Not really dizzy but lightheaded/lightweight-feeling. Also feel a bit tired, like your brain has just gone into chill mode in front of the TV.

How has your sleeping been? My blood pressure is usually in perfect range unless I've been either staying up late or not getting enough sleep, then it shoots up the next day. So if you haven't been sleeping well & you've been pushing yourself hard that might just be it.

I believe this would actually be caused by a blood pressure drop, not increase. The same thing happens when you sit for a long time, then suddenly stand up and walk. Vision goes black, you feel dizzy, light headed, etc. Usually goes away after 10-20 seconds though. SC might want to answer that more specifically, however.

From what I read, it's usually from low blood pressure/sugar. I was/am very hypoglycemic (which jived with that idea, except that when I was exercising, I was pumping up my blood pressure), but I manage it through avoiding food allergens & getting proper sleep, so I don't really know. As long as I'm getting enough sleep at early hours on a regular basis, and eating well, I don't have this issue.

Yep, pretty much this.

Just need to take a longer break than usual and you'll be good to go. And don't push yourself too hard!
