Welp, I crashed at Big Willow / Willow Springs

Fenixgoon

broken rear fender and a small patch of fairing that got knocked out, but otherwise the bike is in damn near perfect shape - engine/transmission cases fine, mirrors fine, etc. Pretty unbelievable. Helmet and racing suit did their job phenomenally, and I walked away from the crash with a sore neck and shoulders.

I was taking Turn 4 a bit too fast, due to poor positioning in Turn 3, lost focus, and ended up going into the ditch near Turn 5.

The good news is I got to go 140mph on the main straight 🙂

Tech inspection sticker. Easiest just to throw it on the wind screen, but I'll move it elsewhere next time.

Glad you're OK. The N1K is on my short list of bikes to look at as successors for my current Ninja 650. Nice to know it can take a slide at speed.

The relative lacki of injury is a good good reason why street riders should always wear gear as well.

Sorry about the spill but THANK YOU for great video with no stupid soundtrack covering up then engine noise.

Awesome that you get that bike out on the track.

I'm glad to know you're okay and the bike is okay as well. Just be extra careful next time you do your track riding. Laters!

Wow I'm surprised you' were able to stand it when you ran out of the pavement, I would've guessed you'll lose the back and and lowside it .

at the time it didn't seem like i needed much adjustment at all...and i was going about 100mph around that turn. just stood the bike straight, clutched in, and rolled on through 🙂 watching the video, i was like 😱 😱 😱

You okay?

yep, bruised collar and shoulder. nothing bad!

Sorry you had to put her down, but glad you walked away mostly unharmed. Awesome video too, looks like a blast!

trackday was $150

bike is getting picked up by a local shop for an estimate tomorrow morning.

i'm kind of expecting < $1k, as the rear fender parts aren't all that expensive. and in that case, i'll pay out of pocket rather than worry about raising my insurance (supposedly State Farm, which I have, covers track days though)
