Trump himself is a dumbass but I agree that the idea of someone like him isn't a terrible thing. If all of the bullshit (media, etc.) is our enemy then the enemy of our enemy is our friend. I don't know how much of that I believe but it seems plausible.

I'm okay with Trump in the sense that it is the consequence for putting Clinton, and everything she represented, up as the opponent. We were doomed as soon as that happened and now we live with the resulting shit show for a few years.

Dont put much weight behind the media or the opposing party... The fact that the FBI has over 150 agents and staff on the case (and that was before Comey was fired) tells us all we need to know. The FBI doesn't mess around. If there were nothing to warrant an investigation they wouldn't have such a massive staff on it. There is something there. This has only happened 2x with a seated president (Nixon and Clinton) and both times evidence was there. If it were not something worthy of investigating, the FBI wouldn't do it period. The FBI investigation at this point is more about gathering indictable convict-able proof than it is about "discovery". Obviously Nixon was forced to resign, and Clinton, while impeached for lying under oath, was so close to the end of his term that it was decided to not disrupt the country by proceeding with impeachment. Trump should be very VERY worried.

Aside from most folks on this forum.. many folks I talk to are quite happy with the way the economy is going. I am pleased too (stock market up roughly 13% since election. Assuming you have an IRA or 401k account look at your recent statements and tell me your not happy. I happen to work in manufacturing and business has been brisk ( part timers are now full timers and overtime is available) I know it has been less than half a year since election but many businesses have really picked up. Yeah, the economy has been on a slow upswing for many years now. The stock market did definitely tick up due to Trump, but that was at the promise that he will dramatically lower taxes for large corporations. This Trump plan actually has some merit. The theory being if we lower taxes on corporations, they will stay here and some will even come back, thus creating more jobs and more income tax revenue via those jobs. It's actually a good plan.

You're making an incorrect correlation there. Companies are offshoring labor because it's cheaper in other countries (and will never be cheaper in the US, we have labor laws). Companies are offshoring corporate profits to tax havens where corporate taxes are so low it's borderline criminal, and again, that will never happen in the US because we tax at a rational (if conservative) level.

Yes but the point is that stocks continued to rise (let's not forget we already enjoyed one of the longest bull markets in history before Trump even won his nomination) because they assume that Trump and the GOP will be pro-business and yes, deliver tax cuts, but that has nothing to do with off-shoring jobs.
