Well this just ruins my day...

Both my wife and I work so once a month we have a cleaning crew come over and clean the house. First time they came they cleaned the 2 week old plasma with some orange-scented cleaner. I told them just to ignore the entire home theater after that incident. Next time they came they cleaned it again with Windex. Figuring they were just ignoring me I started putting a bed sheet over the entire home theater.

Well I just got home to lock up and sure enough the bed sheet is neatly folded on the couch the there is a nice 5" long scratch in the bezel and a cloudy spot on the panel where it looks like the anti-glare finish was rubbed off. Yes, you can see it when the TV is on.

Fuckin' a...

Isn't white bed sheet the international symbol for DON'T FUCKING TOUCH THIS?

I don't think that sounds elitist. Flat-screens are expensive investments. Maybe a sticky note in the future would work. Terrible about your TV tho

🙁

You know what works better than a bed sheet?

A white 8x11 piece of paper with the words "DO NOT TOUCH" printed on it.

Is there a reason you didn't just grab a postit note and write "DO NOT CLEAN THIS" on it and stick it to the TV?

Wow, that sucks ..... You'd think anybody who is a "professional" cleaner would know what NOT to do to a plasma!

I don't think it would have helped. I think they are purposely out to get me.

The crew just doesn't seem to care. They put huge gashes in the new floors with the vacuum along with the base boards among other things.

Now I get to call the manager and kick their asses to the curb.

Yeah..I wouldn't pay them and I would complain to the cleaning service.

Oh, and do they speak English? If not that is your first problem.

And you let them keep coming in to your house?

I would have to put 10 post it notes on each component. My goal was to create a physcial barrier between them and the electronics.

I really don't think a sign would have helped. I have been repeatedly told they don't touch electronics but it still happens. I think it is because the turnover rate is high. No training.

Thank God I lock my office door.

I know, but they came highly recommended and they do a good job cleaning... It is the breaking shit part that pisses me off 🙂

I don't believe in suing for stuff like this... I'll just take it as a life lesson learned, wrap your shit in bubble wrap and put signs on them in 10 languages.

That sucks, thankfully my cleaners are fairly good, all I need to do is re-point my surround sound speaker stands, and I'm good to go.

That would greatly annoy me.

In the past we have had cleaning people come in as well. I usually write a very simple note asking certain things or letting them know what I do not want done. They have always followed it.

I would suggest if they are part of a company like Merry Maids or Molly Maid to call their boss and let them know the situation.
Not to sound mean about it, but when you pay for a service, you should get what you want.
