Where did you get your cleaning kit from? My sensor (Canon 10D) is getting very dirty.

Not so. Rather, not quite that significant a distinction across the board. Much of the misnomer regarding Zoom lenses stem from 'consumer' grade zooms being compared to 'Pro' grade primes. There are Zoom lenses in both Canon's "L" and Nikon's Nikkor stable as well as some third party glass which rival many primes in all but the most exacting applications. I support that it is generally accepted that a Prime will be more sharp in resolving power than a Zoom due to capabilities which may include a faster aperture, fewer elements to cause distortion or perhaps higher quality of glass (this being more true for Macro work than not). However, unless you are printing media which pushes that resolving power to its' limit (Heavily cropped images or prints 13x19" or larger) most consumer and pro-am photogs will never see the difference. The "L" and "Nikkor" Zooms that are close to if not comparable to Primes are in the obvious minority; however a .001% frequency of a not that significant relevancy is a bit misleading. Sharpness being a relative and also differing aspect of image quality; Depth of Field and Bokeh (Out of Focus Background) also weigh in heavily on the quality of image a particular lens is capable of producing. One lens's grace is another's baine so to speak. That is, a Zoom which covers a 80mm focal range could be as sharp as a 80mm prime but it may or may not have as smooth a bokeh or defining depth of field as the other. Depending on your preference for the image you're capturing one lens may produce more desirable results than the other.Originally posted by: DurocShark
99.999% of the time a "prime" lens (single focal length lens) will be signifigantly sharper than a zoom.

nice lens... but on a dslr what are you using it for? that makes the focal length 165mm or so... and that lens is primarly designed for portrait work on a traditional 35mm lens - not to say that its a bad lens though 🙂
