No, the "crisis" has been caused by the tea party Republicans not wanting to own up to the consequences of their own actions. They passed an appropriations law that included deficit spending. Now they don't want to raise the debt limit to account for the deficit spending they are responsible for. They are calling for responsibility.
This whole debt crisis is due to Tea Party members calling for responsibilty.

The tea party Republicans didn't stop the FY11 appropriations bill; they passed it, including deficit spending. That was a done deal, the ink dry. Now they are too gutless to own up to the consequence of their own action and raise the debt limit to accommodate the additional borrowing included in their appropriations law. One could reasonably conclude these are a bunch of whiny, immature, irresponsible hypocrites these Republicans.Everyrone passes appropriations bills. Hell, Obama would pass an appropriation bill with his sister.
It's the people that STOP APPROPRIATONS that count.

You said none of the Repub or Teabag plans preserved AAA. He pointed out that cut,cap and balance would preserve the AAA rating. You misspoke apparently.
Of course the fact that cut,cap and balance couldn't pass wind is another conversation.
It's evidently hard to hear them yell "Fire!" over the roar of the, um, fire. The Tea Party Republicans were elected to yell "Fire!"
-John
..I thought I wrote that the two-tier plans doesn't preserve the rating (ie some cut now + promised cut later). That is one the two plans being discussed currently.
None of the reublican or teabagger plans preserve AAA rating. You are not accomplishing anything, lower credit rating means you are *worse* off fiscally than before.
Wow...reallly? And all this time I thought the Tea Party voted against the appropriations bill last April. No, the "crisis" has been caused by the tea party Republicans not wanting to own up to the consequences of their own actions. :hmm:Wow...reallly? And all this time I thought the Tea Party voted against the appropriations bill last April.
I stand corrected...thanks. I saw Bachman voted against it and stupidly assumed the entire Tea Party followed suit. My bad.
