I was on my way to cancel a grooming appointment for my dog....

AND I was then going to buy a core2duo laptop, 1GB ram, 120GB, vista, 15.4inch screen, dvd burner for $499

Obviously that isn't happening any more:(

better than the laptop i was eyeing in hot deals....do tell?

although the OD one has only an 80GB drive not 120GB.

the one Allisolm posted was what i was looking at, but its not a core2duo for that price, still eyeing it though

Point is traffic slows down really fast as it merges, they braked too hard for me.

you were following too close. if u were at the recommended distance at your speed, you would have braked fine.

wonder why the cop gave u a reckless for that?!

and how sure are you it'll get dropped to improper driving?

um.. hire a lawyer for court just to be safe. reckless driving = misdemenor, 6 points, huge fine, and 10yrs on license. and looks real bad if you wind up being sued now, or in the future if it's car related.

improper = 4points, and 3 yrs (like a reular speeding ticket)

Did that happen on I-66? I live on the I-95 side of PW county and the big problem where I get on the freeway is the truck weigh station...nobody knows how to merge when an 18-wheeler is in the right lane.

I feel for ya, I drove a 94 escort for ten years 180K, they are slow getting up to hyw.
speeds so it's a natural tendency to try to get as much speed as possible on the ramp
so you wont have to " brace for impact" during the merge..

Even if the cop is a complete liar (let's hope not) I really have no other options. School + bills have exhausted my funds and I'm not about to break out my stash under the mattress for this.

I can argue the specificities of it all all day but in the end it will achieve nothing. Odds are I will plead not guilty to the reckless driving charge and go for improper if the cop changes his story or doesn't talk to the DA first.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I know how it is with a weak car, you want to accelerate quickly and as soon as possible so you don't get creamed by an SUV when merging. At least no one was hurt, that's the good news.
