I lived in New Mexico and Arizona for years. You would NOT believe the amount of illegal immigrants there are. The borders need to be tightened.

If this lawsuit succeeds all it will do is either force the US to seal the border or put water stations and make sure the border crossers don?t die or get hurt. I would hope they do something like put a wall and maybe the National Guard on the border. If we can?t control who comes in who is to say some terrorist hasn?t walked across?


Where I live in Il there is a company that hires a lot of illegal aliens. Every few months they get busted and have to hire other people. When I was 18 I worked for them for about 2 months then was laid off. They hired a bunch of illegal aliens for $5 an hour when I was getting paid $9.

she wasn't driving the fvcking car, and the coffee was found to be 180-190 degrees. at that temperature, it can cause 3rd degree burns in as little as 2 seconds. it doesn't matter if it was on a table or she was trying to balance the damn cup on her head, there was no reason for the coffee to be anywhere near that hot. mcdonalds even admitted that "its coffee is 'not fit for consumption' when sold because it causes severe scalds if spilled or drunk," and hundreds of other people received burns from spilled coffee, too. any logical person would conclude that even though it was her fault she spilled the coffee on herself, it should not have caused 3rd degree burns.

I cannot believe people are siding with illegal immigrants who decided to cross the desert without adequate preparation, and then died as a result. Yes, my family came here through imigration from Europe. Legally. On a god damn ship. They didn't try and swim here and then sue the US for not having boats out in the Atlantic to rescue them. It's not an issue of race, it is an issue of those Mexicans were morons. I'm from the Midwest, a place none too abundant with deserts, but I know better than to try and cross one without adequate water. Immigrants have no business using those routes, and regardless of how sh!tty their living conditions are, that doesn't give them carte blanche to waltz in to our country illegally and leech off our system.

They can immigrate legally like everyone else.

You know its one thing to say that the lawsuit is wrong, and it is another to denigrate a group of people that have given their lives in search of prosperity. Their predicament is obviously not fathomed by many of you, as you sit before your computer, in an air-conditioned well lit room with a running water toilet down the hall; probably while you are getting paid for your 'deserved and well-earned' degree for cruising ATOT.

Start a thread about 'stupid' people fleeing oppressing third-world conditions, whether it be Mexico, Central America, Cuba, South America, China, Africa, North Korea, Thailand, or any other, and I'll defend their very bold and risky behavior.

In a nutshell: Hot coffee is made by boiling water. Anyone who drinks coffee, and certainly someone who is 79 years old and has likely made coffee herself, knows this. Boiling water can burn you badly.

See the connection? Coffee -> Boiling water -> Burn - BE CAREFUL! This is not rocket science here.

The plaintiff failed to exercise common sense and care. Coffee should not be purchased by stupid people. You should not stop chainsaws with your hand. Do not place a ladder on top of a frozen manure pile in the early morning, on a day where the temperature is scheduled to rise above freezing. You should not have to have someone hold your hand and tell you this.

So... why is it alright for them to enter illegally again? You make a case for one group of people entering illegally... even though their doing so makes it harder for other immigrants to enter LEGALLY. Why do Mexicans have more right to enter our country than Europeans, or Chinese? Yes, we are the greatest country in the world. A LOT of people wish they lived here... but not everybody can. There's only so many people we can accomodate, so why do you feel that these Mexicans deserve more than anybody else who's trying to enter? Cubans die all the time trying to get to Florida.. I guess it's racist of us because we don't have Destroyers out there escorting them to port.

The only racism and bigotry I am seeng here is from you. You have the impression that these people are entitled to something because their lives suck. Yes, I have a wonderfully comfortable lifestyle compared to them. You know why? Because my ancestors came here LEGALLY a long time ago and worked their asses off so that I could have it. They weren't entitled to anything, they followed the law and did just fine. Stop trying to play the sympathy card... not everybody in the world can have the same lifestyle as us. It just won't work.
