Funeral for my grandmother most likely at 10am (she died today in her sleep. my dad discovered her and i was there within a half hour after he found her. 🙁 )
Wedding reception for a coworker and one of my bosses at 6pm

My grandma dying came out of left field though. None of us expected it. Hell, I just saw her last week and she looked good. Sigh, it's been a hell of a week so far. Been focusing on finishing my move to this new apartment to try and keep my mind off it.

I think you could skip the wedding/reception without any ill feelings from the couple. I think they would understand that you weren't in a party mood.

My condolences.
 
It is always hard to lose any loved one... Take some comfort in knowing Grandma passed in a peaceful way and that she was close to you all ..

You, Grandma and your family are in my thoughts... Light Bless You all

Eh, its important to me that I be at both. The reception might be a good way for me to handle the sadness of the funeral. Better than sitting at home by myself. Thats the way I see it at least.

OP If it's any consolation, i actually think dying in sleep is the best way to go, the only downside is you can't say goodbye to your loved ones.
 
Well today's the day. My sister and I wrote a little tribute to give for the funeral. Hopefully we will both be able to get through it alright. Thanks everyone for your kind words/thoughts/prayers. It's one of the many reasons I stick around here. 🙂
