Well now...MAYBE The Office Will FINALLY be Worth Watching

A new office manager will be joining next week.

But the big question is who succeeds California.

Yesterday NBC alerted the press to a mysterious conference call for Tuesday morning, the Tuesday between 8.1 and 8.2. Participating on the call, we’re told, is showrunner Paul Leiberstein and “The New Office Manager (TBA).” This confirms, I believe, that we’ll learn whether Andy Bernard, Daryl Philbin or someone else entirely will be warming Scott’s old chair.

so did farell leave? wasn't he supposed to be the new manager?
gonna put spoiler tags on my answer since some people will claim they never saw the episode. 😵
i think he was involved in an "accident" trying to dunk that basketball in the warehouse, and he's in a coma.

Was a big meh. I love Spader and probably watched his cameo from last season 10 times on the NBC site it was so good. Just afraid it's too much of a good thing and the kernel of humor he provides in that role was stretched way too thin last night.

I really hope they get a Michael Scott replacement off the street because any of the current casts just makes it feel like something is missing.

They should just have a running gag were they have a new boss each week and some how each boss fails either making him get fired or transferred to a new location. They could get some good jokes out of it for a season then at the end they finally get the permanent boss.

They kind of did that last season.

yeah, lol. I thought he was great in that brief role.

I still haven't seen last night's episode, but I really liked Spader at the end of last season. hope it's good, as Office was getting quite stale.

don't really care, though, b/c P&R and Community are now better.

I love him. Glad he was hired. I would have taken Will Arnett too.

gob? gob doesn't fit in this show, though he's close. too many of his traits are already present in other characters.

and yes, i have condensed that man to one character, 'cause that's what he is. he's good at it when...well, it's good. but most of the time he's just fucking annoying and out of place.

like george michael, only he hasn't overstayed his welcome long enough to make it on my death list.

and this gives me an epiphany- man, why the fuck didn't the office get david cross? that would've been perfect.

This. Not even Charlie Sheen could save this show.

lol...

Charlie Sheen?

'Men' has never been more than mediocre. The jokes on that show are funny when you're drunk at a bar with other drunk people and they're made spontaneously.

When they're written for a show... not so much.

i watched the big bang theory for the first time the other night. it sucked.

but all i could think of was 'man, how the fuck did two and a half men stay on the air? at least this show has jokes.' it wasn't great, but i giggled. tittered, perhaps.

a coke addict a closet case and a future pedo, however, has not been funny. ever.

Spader drives me fucking nuts. He always looks like he's trying to pick his teeth with his tongue while he talks.

Sorry, but Spader is fat, over the hill, and definitely has his best years behind him. He can barely muster enough energy to spit out his lines. This move smells of a show desperate for new blood casting about for any name they think will draw an audience. Kinda sad, really, when you see what a good actor he's been over the years. Now he's just doing it for the $$.

I watched and enjoyed it. To be honest I don't miss Michael too much and am interested in where they decide to take it this season.

I enjoyed last night's opener.

I really miss Jim fucking with Dwight though. They don't seem to write that in as much as in the earlier seasons.
