The comments are cracking me up. The girl that asked the question seems so innocent and cute and then ol well-meaning Nancy sucks all the damned oxygen out of the room :D

I love how everyone gets so butt-hurt over this to begin with. God forbid we don't segregate ourselves into groups based on shit you are born with and have no control over.....

No no no, we must all remain separate. Trans group you go there. Women's group you go there. Black group you go there. Black female trans people you go there.

People are just god awfully fucking dumb. How do you propose to assimilate if you're constantly outcasting yourselves?

Assimilation isn’t the goal. It’s 2019, the fires turned off on the melting pot. It’s all about segregation and identity politics from here on out. Poor Nancy is finding out the hard way haha.

So cute and starry eyed and progressive, excited to hear the response of the Speaker of the House, captain of the Blue Wave, slayer of all things R give an impassioned and resounding YES!! And then!

...wrong answer Nancy. :D

Do you agree with how Pelosi answered the question? The comments in the MSNBC Twitter posting are certainly directing a lot of anger at her. It sounded like a Republican response.
It sounded like a Republican response. Then it probably was, mixed with a little Russian. #walkaway chump.

Yeah it seemed fine and measuring an issue by twitter outrage is ridiculous. I wonder how many are even real people.

Are we supposed to be angry because she said ‘all lives matter’? If so, whoever thinks that misses the whole point as she specifically followed that by saying we needed to redress the grievances of black people.

The reason ‘all lives matter’ is a shitty thing to say is that conservatives use it specifically as an excuse NOT to redress the grievances of black people. Considering she’s saying the exact opposite...

Fair point on the Twitter comments. As for her response, she certainly served up a heaping bowl of word salad to answer a simple question. It made me think of how someone like Mitt Romney would answer the question.

I think she should have known better than to utter the words "all lives matter." If you look at the context she clearly meant well but that phrase is like acid to African Americans since the alt-right made it their battle cry.

Pretty much this.

I do appreciate the steadfast adherence to productive conversation from Starbuck, but the eulation from UC and some1 is expected and pretty sad.

The root is a #severelyconservative twitter bot:

Why avoid threads started by UC? What if people on the right (well they do) said "no no no don’t read it it’s not true UC is arguing in good faith!" each time Trump made a gaff? The political forums would be quite a bore, no?

The issue is that you routinely start threads that come across as disingenuous or have long had answers outside of the conservative bubble. Like the voter ID thing recently, for example; anyone who's actually been paying attention knows those voter ID laws are designed solely to disenfranchise minorities, but you gave a whole "what's the big deal?" shrug as if this question hasn't been answered a million times over.

Ask again how and why you could be considered trolling?

Also Pelosi gave a perfectly valid answer, reaching across the demographics in an effort to unite and heal the GREAT DIVIDE installed by Trump, the GOP and right wing media. BLM has to recognize that she is playing for their team and give some slack... Its not like Trumptard said it, that would be different.

All Lives Matter is how you save and gather enough support for Black Lives Matter. For you to have a coalition large enough to make a difference... for #BLM. Speaking only to 12% of the population is not a winning strategy. Got to talk to everyone about the abuse of force and the need for reform, as it effects everyone.

However, Nancy shouldn't pretend she's speaking to everyone at all times. That young women needed a more direct approach. But given Nancy's age... I think she's lucky to remember her own name. I can forgive her for not being flexible. Shame on the DNC for being so damn old.

What’s disingenuous? She made a gaff and I posted about it. If you scroll up and down the first page you’ll notice any number of threads of left leaning posters making threads about Trumps numerous gaffs. How many right leaning posters do you find freaking out over it calling it trolling, pleading to people not to click the threads, saying it’s disingenous etc? You can’t take what you like to dish out it seems.
