Perspective guys/ gals......

I AM THANKFUL

FOR THE WIFE WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME, NOT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE TEENAGER WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES,
BECAUSE THAT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME & NOT ON THE STREETS

FOR THE TAXES THAT I PAY,
BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT I AM EMPLOYED.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG,
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK,
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE.

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING,
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT,
BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT,
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING AND HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH
TRANSPORTATION.

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL,
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH THAT SINGS OFF KEY,
BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING,
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES AT THE END OF THE DAY,
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS,
BECAUSE IT MEANS THAT I AM ALIVE.

AND FINALLY.......FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL,
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.

Addendum>>> FOR A DAUGHTER WHO LOVES ME ENOUGH TO TELL ME THE TRUTH,
EVEN KNOWING I MAY HAVE A TOUGH TIME WITH IT FOR A WHILE.

Lighten up folks.......life is good.......all life.......Ol'Ben

that goes to prove my theory: 99.8% of all "lesbians" can't get a man, so they turn to other women.

rbloedow -

I hope for your friend?s sake her parents come to terms with her sexuality sooner rather than later.
I had a close friend who was gay, his parents never accepted it...
The things they did to him would boggle your mind, in the end they screwed him up so much that he castrated himself and then put a bullet through his head.

Personally I don't think it?s a choice, but in the end what does it really matter, they are consenting adults whose actions don't hurt me or anyone else.

What about if she was always a lesbian, but just had interests in guys because of her friends / upbringing / "what everyone else does" and just finally now got the confidence to realize who she is inside?

<<Well, I have never encountered someone who decided to be homosexual. All of the gay girls I have talked to (hey, having a lesbian friend has some perks to it), they did not choose to be gay. Based on that, I believe with 100% certainty that it isn't a choice.>>

Edit: I guess she's copping out and making her dad think she's straight. Her mom come out and told her that it doesn't bother her, and that she's ok with it. She's always been a person with sound judgement, etc, but I don't understand why she's doing it. She told me that she will loose too much if she admits to her father that she is gay (house (parents house), job (she works for the family business, makes $500 a week), car (2001 Explorer)). She told me that she's going to try and find another high paying job, and try moving out herself, then tell her that's she's fruitier than a fruit loop (her words).

Also, the pics have been removed. Obviously they were too much for some of the 11th graders here.

that's an astoundingly ignorant thing to say, even by your standards.

It's not that shocking. I don't think anybody is proclaiming that all gay people were born gay but it's certainly obvious that some gays (percentage-wise, I have no idea) were born gay. It wasn't their decision, which makes the hatred directed at them disgraceful and inhumane.

In that case... ummm... errr... take your time. If you could have them up at half past never, that would be great.

Actually, what I found shocking is his "Based on that"...meaning from the few lesbians he's talked to he believes "with 100% certainty" that it isn't a choice. Had every one of the few lesbians he's talked to said that they had chosen to be that way and he said based on that he believes with 100% certainty that all gays/lesbians choose to be that way I would still be shocked. You following me?

Agreed.

Ok, time to prove I know of which I speak:

1. I have known several "lesbians." I put the word in quotes because the ones I knew turned gay after having relationships where they "loved" men. I have never known a lesbian who went through puberty dreaming about having a girlfriend.

2. I once dated a girl who decided she wanted to be a lesbian. The last time I saw her, she told me her dream was to leave her girlfriend and run away to Australia with me (I couldn't make this stuff up). Last I heard of her, she was "married" to some chick.

3. The other women I knew who were lesbians had relationships with men. One in particular only "came out" after years of chasing after another (male) friend of mine who had no interest in her.

4. I have had a gay roommate. He also confided that he thought about being married to a woman with children someday.

5. Anyone who claims to be bi-sexual is simply saying they'd do anything with anyone anytime, depending on their level of sobriety/horniness. Basically they're sluts (male and female). People who say they're gay still cling to some idealized relationship in a quasi-moral setting.

I granted that .2% of the population may have some physiological condition where their brains are wired to only like/be attracted to the same sex. However, out of a dozen or so openly gay friends and acquaintances I've known, only one fell into that category. He was a really nice guy, and his wiring was completely geared towards guys.

So that's my experience.

Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but...

Homosexuality is not some thing one chooses to do. Nor is it because of the surrounding the child goes through. Why? Simple: In practise, all homosexuals come from "normal" families. They were raised according to certain expectations (that they will find a husband/wife, get marrind and have kids). That idea is hammered down to them since they are kids. The society around them does it, their parents do it. Yes some of them end up gay. How could it be if they are raised heterosexual? Could it be because they are born that way?

i dont see how you can be born gay. animals may be gay, but as it was mentioned, a lot of them adapt and take over for the other sex. with humans, you cant have kids with 2 dudes butt plugging each other.

and yes, gay people, to me, are gross, except hot lesbians, but we all know those dont exist in the real world.

i just dont see how it ISNT a choice. the rear door is a 1 way street...exit only. two females cant reproduce...what are they going to do, squirt some milk and fertilize it? no, didnt think so.

i know this is partially ignorant, but it makes sense in my brain.

the problem is your view is oversimplified darwinism. you assume we are solitary creatures that meet up every once in a while to mate. it doesn't work that way, humans are social animals whos survival is greatly enhanced in large societies.

ever wonder why there are stupid people still if all things that are "bad" get bred out? u can pick any number of traits and ask that. lets pick a stereotype and say that many great artists were gay. does great art strengthen society? think of sickel cell, it can either kill you, or give you resistence to maleria. maybe theres a gene we need for something else that ends up creating gay people sometimes too. sh*t happens. and theres a vast amount of sh*t we don't know:)

thats picking a little at the very surface it. stuff only makes a lot of sense in your brain if you oversimplify:)

as for the outhole. some men like doing the outhole on women. how does a bj propagate the species?

yup, studies show that kids with gay parents have only the same chance as the general population of being gay. go figure eh?

you make good points. i still am against it though...and i personally still think it is a choice. you have a choice between the two...and they picked their same sex...its that simple.

I wouldn't have a problem if I had a gay child. The only thing I'd worry about is the seemingly large number of people who feel its ok to harass or attack gay people. There are support groups for parents to help them understand and confront their fears about this. Hopefully, your friend will work up the courage to talk to her parents and they will realize that she is still the child they have always loved.
