I'm currently at the dentist office. For the past 5 days my lower right back tooth has been hurting. In the last 48 hours it's been killing me. It's either an infection or a wisdom tooth coming in. The past two days I've been getting temps of 101 and above. I hope he's able to fix this. 🙁

Update: Had surgery to get all 4 wisdom teeth removed this morning. Other than my bottom lip feeling large/numb and a little soreness, I'm doing pretty good.
 
Sounds like a root infection (a cavity that's turned into an abcess). You'll have root canal; a bloody, but painless (after the 4 needles), 1 hour process. You'll still have your tooth, but it will be dead due to the removal of the nerve.

Don't worry; I have 3 of them. 🙁. Hopefully you get some Vicodin 5 out of it. A bottle of about 20 is enough for a really good time for a few weekends.

Oh...I mean...it will relieve the pain long enough for the damage to your gums to heal.

Well just got done. I have an infection on my wisdom tooth so I'm going to have to get it extracted. Dentist prescribed amoxycillin and vicodin, which I'm now waiting to pick up.

Penicillin (which is what that Amoxyicilin is) and alcohol can cancel each othe out. Be careful about any alcohol intake while taking those. Actually, it's best to not drink while taking them. Ensuring you've got no infection is paramount.

So much for the root canal, eh? I guess your infection is too far gone to save the tooth. That's fine though...it's a wisdom tooth (I.E. unneeded molar) and you're best w/o it anyway.

Start the antibiotic right away but save the Vicodin...you're gonna need it. Hopefully he gave you more than just 2 or 3 pills?

30 pills of the vicodin. I get a refill of the amoxicillin because I can't even go for a "surgical consult" (i.e. "Do more xrays and postpone longer") until January 8th. Looks like Im gonna have a rough start to the new year.
 
Now my lower left wisdom tooth is an ugly shade of red on top and hurts even worse than the right side, which still hurts. This REALLY sucks. Christmas Eve = Dentist not open!!! 🙁🙁🙁
 
Just a quick update, I went to the doctor's last night. Turns out overall I have the following: Viral infection, Bacterial infection, Bronchitis, and 2 infections on lower wisdom teeth. I think it's about time to call House. 🙁

Thanks everyone. Done nothing but taking it easy today watching TV. Hurts eating anything really so im stuck with Jello and Pudding snacks. That and soup.
