Well guys. My awesome computer has failed me. Heres what i happened. I left it on while i went to the Packer game last night with my dad so I could finish some downloads, and when i came back, it was turned off. I attempted to boot it up, and it won't even try. No fans. no noise, nothing.

I tried taking out the motherboard tray, taking off all pci slots. The usually troubleshooting. Then i tried different outlets, a different psu, and I even plugged in a different button. Nothing worked. As of now, I have tried everything that I know, and am stumped. Any of you guys got some suggestions.

Reset cmos? Setup a test bed with only psu, cpu/cooling, one ram, and vid card? Worth a try.

So your computer does not power on? Try jumpering the green wire (there is only one) and any of the black wires. If the fan in the PSU comes to life, your PSU works. Since you've already tried another button, you might also try jumpering the power on pins on the motherboard with a pair of needle nose pliers as a last ditch effort. If this fails, I'd say your mb is toast. :(

Whoa. Jumpering? Thats sounds involved. You're gonna have to explain it in a little more detail for me to understand.

Ionizer, i have tried Cmos reset, and believe me, I've tried many different combinations of ram, and such.

What is your hardware, exactly? If this motherboard has an onboard LED indicating that it's got live power, is that LED lighting up when the PSU is on?

Take the motherboard off the motherboard tray, lay it on cardboard, and try it with just the video card, CPU/heatsink, memory and keyboard. If it still doesn't work, try known-working alternate parts in it until you've eliminated all the possibilities you can, then make an educated guess out of what's left.

It still might help if you'd tell us more than just the brand of the motherboard ;)

Question: did you have the Lian-Li's front-USB wiring plugged into the board's USB3 header? If so, did you plug anything into Pin #10 (leftmost pin on bottom row)? That pin is The Pin We Do Not Plug Anything Into, because it's +5VDC, not ground. :Q

I'll be interested to hear the results of trying the board on cardboard with the bare minimum.

Cardboard did nothing.

It does look as the mobo is the problem.

I did notice that the psu made a slight humming as i plugged the power in. I suspect it is normal?
