kidney stones suck! I went to the hospital last night and was there until 4:00am with some horrible pains, worst i have ever felt. The diagnosis was kidney stones and they sent me home with tons of drugs and a strainer to catch it. I asked how long it takes, but they didnt give me a clear answer.

What is teh average time to pass a kidney stone?

The more water you drink, the higher the odds it'll come out sooner.

Move the PC into the bathroom and stay there. Drink water from sink, put water back into bowl. 😉 Good luck and I hope you feel better.

Like everybody is saying, drink lots of fluids. Kidney stones have been described as "giving birth for men" by many doctors to me in the past. I go on calls for them and I have the morphine out for them in nothing flat.

honestly, it hurt worse than anything i have experienced when it moved down from teh kidney. I broke my nose twice and had my mom set it both times, and that was nothing compared to this.

man good luck buddy, i had one when i was in college it felt like a hundred knives repeatdley stabbing me in the back. It took two days for it to come out and the damn thing was soooo small like a spec of sand.

boooo kidney stones.

And now you've discovered the downside of drinking caffinated/carbonated drinks 😉 I feel your pain man, I passed one a few months ago, though I do envy your drugs 🙂

I thought they had ways of using ultrasonic waves or something simlimar to dissolve stones. I think if I ever get one, I'd rather have them cut open my kidney and pick it out with their finger than trying to pass it. Either that, or I want to be on morphine and far, far away from life on earth.

Hehe, good luck getting your insurance to cover that. Ble Cross Blue Shield sucks, so i am kinda worried that they will not cover the costs. My mom had vertigo about 3 years ago, and BCBS refused to cover any of the medical care. God damned insurance leeches :|

I was lucky and mine came out the same day it sent me too the hospital. Of course it was two weeks later before it left the bladder but that was nothing.

Oh, I see now. You have that option, but it's most likely coming out of your back pocket and not any insurance agency. Vertigo? I've heard of it (even before David Blaine), but not real sure what it is or how it affects you. And how do you treat it?

Tease.........................

<------has a messed up lower back and a neck injury from the USMC, and when the Dr. looks at me he say's "Right! You just wanna party!!" 🙁

Needs a new doctor...............

My mom had it done, completely covered by insurance.

They put you asleep in a tub of water, & blast the hell out of it. They gave her the spark plug like device afterwards, apparently it's only used once & then discarded. Kinda cool.
