Poor Snoopy opened the wound where he was fixed. He came up to me and was all full of blood. I was scared to death. (I'm a long time medic in the army and now a drill sergeant in the reserves) This has been the hardest case I've ever treated. I applied pressure on the poor guys wound for about 15 minutes (he fought me the whole time). He was shaking and crying like you wouldnt believe. When the bleeding let up I coated it with ointment and called the vet. The emergency person there said well just watch him the rest of the night and if it starts bleeding again to bring him in. So now I'm in for a long night.

By the way here is the thread that lead me to this.

Should I Fix My Cat I

Here is a pic of the cloth I held pressure with.
(Warning contains blood)

The Blood

Here is Snoopy sleeping after the scare.

Snoopy Sleeping

I wonder if this happens often after thi procedure.

I'd take him in to the vet pronto. That's a lot of blood for a little kitty.

He's not bleeding anymore. I will bring him back in the morning. He seems to be fine now.

yeah get him in pronto and make sure he's got plenty to drink right where he's sleeping, he's probably dehydrated after losing that much blood. :( hope he hangs in there. sound like he was just trying to wash it and pulled the stitches out with his tongue.

Damn. I've never seen that happen either. What did the vet use to close the wound when performing the original procedure?

Poor kitty.

My friend got his cat cut. The poor thing just hid in a pile of clothes for like a week.
