Well I fixed my Cat...

Poor Snoopy opened the wound where he was fixed. He came up to me and was all full of blood. I was scared to death. (I'm a long time medic in the army and now a drill sergeant in the reserves) This has been the hardest case I've ever treated. I applied pressure on the poor guys wound for about 15 minutes (he fought me the whole time). He was shaking and crying like you wouldnt believe. When the bleeding let up I coated it with ointment and called the vet. The emergency person there said well just watch him the rest of the night and if it starts bleeding again to bring him in. So now I'm in for a long night.

By the way here is the thread that lead me to this.

Should I Fix My Cat I

Here is a pic of the cloth I held pressure with.

The Blood

Here is Snoopy sleeping after the scare.

Snoopy Sleeping

I'd take him in to the vet pronto. That's a lot of blood for a little kitty.

I would take him to the vet as well.

I hope he gets better 🙁

yeah get him in pronto and make sure he's got plenty to drink right where he's sleeping, he's probably dehydrated after losing that much blood. 🙁 hope he hangs in there. sound like he was just trying to wash it and pulled the stitches out with his tongue.

That's just what happened. And he drank a lot of water befere he went to sleep. I'll will keep a close eye.

Damn. I've never seen that happen either. What did the vet use to close the wound when performing the original procedure?

my cat had to stay at the vet for 2 days while he got fixed.. he didnt have any problems though.. they just make them stay over night.
