I've been driving my Mitsu 3000 GT-VR4 for 14 years now. No major issues in all that time, a fantastic car overall.

Today, I decided it was time to replace old reliable mr 3000, I went to the local Acura dealer, test drove a TL, and bought it on the spot. Normally I take a long time, do all sorts of research, find the best deals, research some more before finally coming to a conclusion. This time, I just drove the car, was really impressed and bought it.

Anyone wanna buy a 300hp red Mitsu? ;)

Anyone else done something impulsive like that??

Relative ownes one of the last years they were make. He loves that car. I have to admit, it has never given him a bit of trouble. An earlier model gave him some probs on a Montana Interstate when the front air dam let loose at 138 mph.

What color you get? 6-speed or auto? Navi?

I test drove that a few times, but couldn't afford it. Settled on an '05 RSX-S and I love my car. The TL is great, but would have been almost unbeatable if it were RWD. Did you consider the G35 at all? Interior isn't as nice but everything else is pretty sweet, especially the RWD.

Congrats on the TL !! :)

I went around to car dealers looking for a ride that cost less and wasnt' an SUV since my previous ride was a Blazer, I ended up buying a Tahoe that night. :(

Damn impulse!

4 years later and I'm still paying on it.

hmmm... I quit my job, gave up my home, my friends and dropped out of college and moved 1,000 to move in with a guy I was dating for less than 8 months.

6+ years later... here we are.

;)

congrats on your new car!!!

When I first got my 3000 VR-4, I "let it loose" just to see what it could do. I had it up over 145 mph with some breathing room left. I was too scared to take it much past that though.

In almost 15 years, the only major issue I've run into was that I had to replace the transmission at 80,000 miles. Other than that, just regular maintenance stuff. Very lucky I guess. I live in Ohio, so the all-wheel-drive has been great in the winters as well.

Dang, that's going out on a limb. Good thing it worked out, otherwise we'd be reading a "what a jerk!" thread ;)

I decided on the pearl green one (dunno what the official name of it is). I didn't think I would like the green one (was thinking black or charcoal), but it looks great.

I did consider the G35 -- about a year ago I took a look at the G35. Drives awesome, with very good power, but when you sit in it you don't get a feeling of 'luxury', like you do with some of the other cars in that price range.

Well, since I had not intended to get a new car I haven't figured out what I want to sell it for. Probably something around $2500 to $3000. The blue book value on it is $4500, but I don't think any car that's 14 years old is worth that much unless it's a classic.

Yah... that's what I started thinking when I got home. I went online and looked at the prices, and according to Edmunds I didn't get ripped off too bad (I paid $73 too much). Could be worse I guess......
