Graduating from High School in ~3 months. Completely forgot about community service hours. 40 hours are required in order to get your diploma; I have none.

Where would be the best kind of places to volounteer my time?

Where to volunteer usually depends on the type of activities you like to do.

Child mentor program? I didn't have to do any for high school, but my college required 60 hours during freshman year. Most of the peer counselors recommended mentoring.

Volunteer to be an informant for your local police. Should be right up your alley.

depends on what you like to do.

- volunteer to spend afternoons at a nursing home/retirement community, playing games or reading to them
- soup kitchens on weekends/after school. they always need the help
- candy striper at a local hospital
- look around at local community organizations. YMCA, or other children's youth groups. see if they need people to help out with activities.

gotta have service hours to graduate? sh!t son, i don't :)
habitat for humanity, maybe? easy to get 40 hours racked up doing that, and that's exactly what I'd do. The one community service that actually has a large impact, the one I thoroughly support, just haven't had the time to do it. :(

I had to do the same sh!t, except it was for government class...

I did 20 hours helping a pre-first teacher at my moms school and then 20 hours of "boys and girls club" after school.

You should join a club like civitan or key club, they tell you when and where to go do community service. When I was in high school my friend's mom friend was the president of the American Cancer Society, so she let us go to the office and do some work, she even padded it 5 hours :)

/edit to fix mistakes caused by the sauce :)

Yo same thing here, cept i played in the Pit Orchestra for my school's production of Oklahoma, and also play bass guitar in my church's praise band for my volunteer work. My teacher's pretty sweet.
